Last run in 2006, the Historic event returns to a more common daytime Sunday event, although scrutineering and the first 2 Special Tests are on Saturday afternoon/evening at the Anglesey Showground, just as a taster for what follows the next day. There is no specific start time. Just turn up when you feel like it, and once passed the scrutineering and signing-on you can have a go at the Special Test which is repeated. Or, you could just hang around, watch a few others have a go, and then have a go yourself. Better watch out though, it gets dark early in February. Nice to see where you're going? Tests open 15:00 to 18:45, and then again from 22:30 to 23:30 for any late arrivals.

Sunday re-starts at the Anglesey Race Circuit for some more Special tests, followed by Regularity sections over some of the picturesque areas of the Isle of Anglesey. These are split by more Special tests at other venues, and two generous Rest Halts at Foel Farm Park on the shores of the Menai Strait, and at Pili Palas (Butterfly Palace) where crews should have time to check out the walk-through Butterfly haven and cafe. First car due at the finish in Trearddur Bay Hotel at 4pm.

The event is progressing nicely, and although numbers of cars isn't as high as predicted, we have more than enough to run the rally, so the event is definately running. Entries are still being accepted. (updated 29-01-10)

Palferman Trophy Rally 2010

To complement the ToA it has been customary to run an event for cars which are too new for the Historic section, as the local road rally brigade love to have a go too. So, 2010 will be no different. The PALFERMAN Trophy Rally will be a National B Road Rally running in conjunction with the ToA. As a round of the popular ANWCC Road Rally championship we expect a full quality entry field.

For 2010 the Palferman Rally kicks off at 19:00 for 3 runs at the Showground Special Test, followed by a pre-plot 70-mile half nighter, with the first car due back at midnight.

The PALFERMAN re-starts at 10:40 on Sunday Morning, running behind the Historic Crews at the Race Circuit. But whilst the Historics head off around the island for the rest of the day, the Palferman crews remain at the Circuit until 4pm, doing many more Special Tests.

Both the Historics and Palferman crews are timed to arrive simultainiously at the Finish in Trearddur Bay at 4pm on Sunday 14th February 2010.

Oh, before you rush off to fill in the entry form, spare a thought for the wives, husbands, boyfriends and girlfriends. After all, it's valentine weekend. I know! Give them a great surprise. tell them they get to navigate!

LATEST: 29-01-10

Special Tests now finalised and the Palferman will consist of 20. With the cancellation of the Y2K due to snow, The Palferman is now the openning round of the ANWCC Road Rally Championship 2010.

Although entries are fewer than anticipated we have enough to run, so the event is definately on. We also have promises of more entries, and there is still time. Entries still being accepted.
